About

How would you explain who you are to someone from another generation? By showing them. M-Generations is a project that uses video shot from mobile phones as a quick, easy and fun way for adults and kids to help understand one another. This first phase of the project works with members of the Kenyan Community Ushindi Church in Lowell, Mass.

What is important to you? What do you want another person to understand about your life? To answer these questions, adults and kids tell their own stories. They receive new Nokia phones. They record video clips on those phones to show who they are and what they care about. Then, participants work together to edit everyone’s videos into one short film. Using mobile phones and free online applications (Bambuser & Jaycut), the group is able to shoot, edit and produce a film without complicated or expensive equipment. The final film will be posted here and screened to the whole congregation.
